It is almost impossible to call me on my cell phone when I am at work. The signal reception is so poor that almost no one have managed to reach me during my working hours in two years.
Overall, phone reception is very very bad in some areas of our town. Some people blame it on the ST-Ericsson and Sony Ericsson labs in the city. These guys have their own wireless networks for development and testing, and according to what I have heard these in-house networks can confuse the GSM and 3G base stations across city to the point that there is zero reception in some places.
Mostly out of boredom, I wrote a "Net Monitor", a tool that monitors signal strength. Hope you will find it useful.
